It all began with a chat between me and a
friend of mine about old animes that we watched as kids. She was looking for Sailormoon episodes since
she forgot its storyline. It surprised
me, first, I didn’t know Sailormoon has a stroryline, I thought it was just
about some gals kicking one and another monsters’ asses in every episode, and
the more
surprising thing is the fact that there is living
being who watch Sailormoon for its plot.
Hours passed by and we
both ended up watching Chibi Maruko-chan in youtube (you can see the video
below). Then we realised the kampret fact,
we are in our early 20s yet we still act much like Maruko.......
But, it was great how
simple lines such as “they take a look not to buy it, only to make fun of it”
and “showing her gratitude in respect for the aged day, Maruko is showing her
greed either” could get me laugh.
It was great to remind me how was the old sunday morning’s
scent (it doesn’t smell the same lately, ain’t?)
It was great how it
remind me how I woke up in the dark, at 05.30 AM, no one to talk to, my parents
hadn’t woken yet, then I tried to sleep again but i couldn’t.
It was great how it
remind me of my old imaginations.
It was great how it
remind me of less messed up version of me.
Thanks god today was a
well spent Sunday.
Fun fact about Chibi Maruko-Chan
I just know that this is a semi-autobiographical story of its author, Momoko Sakura, and the set is in 1974 (I thought the set was in 90s).
